DIY Non Tox Herbal Soy Melts to make Your Home Smell Naturally Amazing

When you want to keep your home smelling fresh without the added chemicals or fire hazard, these DIY herbal soy melts are the solution.

Using recycled jam jars, soy wax, herbs and flowers from your garden or outside, and spices, you can quickly make a variety of different scents to set the vibe of your home.

Some combinations to try:

  • Palo santo, sage, rosemary, cinnamon, cloves
  • Lavender, rose, vanilla
  • Dried orange, vanilla, lemon balm
  • Pine needles, mint, dried lemon

Supplies you will need:

  • small glass jam jars or ceramic ramekins
  • soy wax flakes or beeswax
  • oven safe mason jar or measuring cup (once the wax melts in it, you won't be able to use it for anything but wax!)
  • a deep pot for boiling water
  • oven mits
  • spices, herbs, flowers
  • essential oils (optional)
  • a candle warmer (Amazon or home decor stores)

How to make herbal soy melts

  1. Place a tall mason jar in a few inches of boiling water in a pot, and fill it with enough soy wax flakes to fill each of your tiny jars 3/4 full. Let the wax fully melt
  2. Wearing oven mits, remove the jar of melted wax and pour it into the small jam jars, filling each 3/4 full
  3. Start to decorate each jar with your herbs, flowers and spices
  4. Let them completely cool. Place a lid on each to preserve them until ready to use. When ready, place one under the heat of a candle warmer
